MARES, which translates as „the Sea", was founded back in 1982 by a businessman who had a passion for fishing, and who had a vision of the future. While in New Zealand, an area where seven-foot seas are the norm, he took notice of a particular catamaran design that flawlessly handled the harsh sea conditions. This catamaran rode easily across the crest of the waves, smoothly, evenly and with amazing control.
Realizing the great potential of this catamaran hull he started perfecting the unique MARES Design. Since then, MARES has built power catamarans ranging from 38' to 120'. MARES continues to build stylish yachts with form and function, and in 2010 launched its new series of power catamarans which are some of the most fuel efficient yachts on the market.
Water is hard, air is soft – finally a boat that understands the difference
Why fight through the water, when you can glide over it? In aviation, the so called „ground effect" has been well known for ages, and now, MARES is using it in an innovative way to build luxurious and at the same time powerful boats.
Watch an airplane land, as it nears the ground, it levels out a few feet above the runway. The pilot then „flares", cuts the engines and uses the compression of air between the runway and the wings to soften the landing. At its best, the plane can ride this cushion of air for hundreds of feet to a feathery touchdown. This effect has inspired a remarkable boat design by MARES International engineers that breaks through every existing boating barrier. Thus, MARES sets new standards in comfort due to perfect driving abilities even in rough conditions as well as in fuel efficiency, because less resistance means less consumption. But it's not only less resistance that matters – because of its unique and innovative hull shape, a jet effect is created, which accelerates the boat even more effortlessly. A performance never experienced before!

The new MARES 43 – a class of its own
Still every inch a MARES: Striking looks - advanced design - use of the latest technology - the new MARES 43 lives up to its 30 year heritage. There are also many practical cutting edge innovations seen on the MARES Catamarans for the first time. This is a truly unique Fly-Bridge motor yacht offering luxury, performance and fuel efficiency - all within the patented MARES asymmetrical cat hull.
She has elegant sweeping lines, enormous panoramic window areas that flood the interior with light and give a spacious airy feeling. That same feeling of large yacht luxury is further mirrored on the extra large Fly Bridge: there are walks around side decks for easy docking and access to the bow, and the open plan cockpit area with plenty of seating and room for entertaining.
Powered with Cummins diesels and Zeus pod drives is another first for the MARES 43. The integrated foil adds even more performance and fuel efficiency to this already efficient hull design.
